Close to Home Screen Saver
We're sorry, but live support is no longer available for this product. Since it was developed for platforms that are no longer the standard, we can only provide answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Compatibility: This software is only fully compatible with Windows® 95. It will work on Windows® 98, 2000, ME and Windows® NT, but with less functionality.
Q. How can I tell if my computer meets the system requirements listed on this software?
A. There are several things you can tell by right-clicking on the My Computer icon on your desktop and choosing Properties. The resulting screen will show you what kind of computer you have, which version of Windows you are running, and how much RAM you have installed.
If you double-click on My Computer and then right-click on the drive you would like to install the software on and finally choose Properties, the resulting screen will tell you if you have enough hard drive space available.
Q. I have Windows 98 or higher. Why can’t I change any settings?
A. That option is not available with Windows 98 or higher. Unfortunately, there is no solution for this problem at the current time.
Q. How can I set the picture to change every minute?
A. The change needs to be made in the Screen Saver options window (found by following the menu path Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display, then the Screen Saver tab). There is a field that is called Minutes, found between Change and Random. Change the Minutes field to 1 and check the Random check box. If you have Windows 98 or higher, that setting cannot be changed.
Q. How can I set password protection?
A. This screen saver does not come with that feature.
Q. How I can email someone both the graphic and message of my Day Savor?
A. From the main program’s full-screen display, click with your right mouse button and select Save Graphic to File. In the Save As window that appears, you must name the bitmap file you are going to save. IMPORTANT: Make sure you save your file somewhere other than in the DaySavor folder (because it will cause a double message problem on the full-screen display). We suggest you save the file to your desktop (C:\Windows\Desktop). Once you have the image saved, you can attach it to an email and send it from your email program. NOTE: The graphic file the DaySavor creates for you is a bitmap (*.bmp). This is a rather large file (in bytes). You may wish to open this file in a graphics program, perhaps resize it, and save it as something more manageable. The JPEG file format is good quality and a smaller file size.
